Who is Tom Pearson?

Good question. Jury is still out! Actor, Director, Writer, Voice-over Artist, Creator and Tom is also the President of the Very Useful Theatre Company which produces the Newmarket International Festival of One Act Plays.

Most recent acting work includes currently shooting as a prinicipal Actor in a proposed series called Raven and is starring in a period piece pilot called Grace & Justice. See the rough cuts here. As Well TP just finshised as principal actor in the film The Hangman in which TP is both the Hangman by night as well as an "entertainment  reporter" by day - 2024 release.

Prior, TP had already written, hosted, and produced shows for Rogers / Shaw Cable including Out and About for four years, that focused on dining and entertainment. The entertainment focused show was a first of today's versions and TP always added some wacky, original characters. Show Highlights included interviewing The Good Brothers and Comedians Derek Edwards and Mike Bullard then with Yuk Yuk's prior to his becoming a Host himself for C.T.V. and radio.

Short Film - Ad spot - Canadian Labour Congress contest winning entry - One Minute Short - 

"One Paycheck Away" chosen the winning entry online from voters across Canada and used in their national ad campaign.

2013 - 14 - Writer, Actor, Director  Short Film "Shoots, Scores" play part of the teacher and "parents voices" which debuted as part of York Region School Board's Quest For Youth presentation to an international audience and on Rogers TV and subsequently released as a stand alone short in the PlaYR film festival in 2015. TP was commended for working with and mentoring an Asperger's syndrome (autistic) youth on the production.

2015 - Director / Writer / Host / Voice-Over - Short Film - A Thin Pink Line - Winner Best documentary 2015 PLaYR Film Festival.

2010 -16 - TP Entertainment's online videos now over 500,000 views, from docs to comedies to commotions to serious reports.

TP has also worked in the past as an Entertainment Editor / Columnist for CoverStory Newspaper and his entertainment blogs are well viewed online and optimized for long term branding - now over 500,000 views- and includes original characters & impressions by TP as well as original outside the box promotional and entertainment content originated by TP.

In 2017 TP appeared as lead Actor in the Comedy Short " I Begin Where You End" produced by That Guy Media and in 2020 field produced a piece for " Canada Remembers Our Heroes" TV Series as well as Wrote, Directed and Acted  as the lone Actor in the short film " Unknown Soldiers".

Award Winning Character

Tom Pearson has received numerous commendations for his work in community development including being nominated for a York Region Character Award and awarded the Queens Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2012 recognizing TP's contribution to country through community initiatives such as the 10 year run of the Friendly Neighborhood Youth Road Hockey Challenge which he created and as well helped start Operation Sparrow - chairing the non-profit group for 4 years- providing kids free access to sports, arts, and activities. Tom was also awarded the Member of Parliament's Medal in 2017 for volunteer service.

Hip Hop Talent - Dean Wild

Looking for a unique Hip Hop act? Someone that doesn't follow a cookie cutter?

Canadian Idol Judge Farley Flex said at a recent event TP was also a judge at, that the best acts are those true to themselves and not trying to copy someone else.

" You're not American. Why are you singing about the American experience" he told one act.

It's true too. Unique, original acts are what make it and I think Dean Wild is just different enough to get some stage time. It's up to her from there on to take it to another level.

 Recently I found one of Dean's tracks , Garden of Eden" to be a good fit for a promo piece I was doing. Now living in Aurora, Ontario, Canada and hailing from nearby Newmarket, this home-grown Hip Hop artist had her own unique experiences to draw from, having grown up in a smallish town with a semi-homophobic nature at the time, and was happy to oblige the piece with the soundtrack. Other tracks of hers I've checked out I found the same thing, signature.

Dean, along with her Stay Blessed Productions, have been playing gigs in and around the Toronto area for the past few years, some of which along with other Hip Hoppers TPE has captured live.
